We know that script elements block rendering [...] But did you know that link elements block too?

In itself, one stylesheet being included with a link element will not necessarily kill your site experience, but why not use the @import directive instead and have one less thing that blocks the rendering flow of your page.

(the post is actually more aimed at external web-font loading, but this is my take-away)
